TRAVEL OPTIONS
Approach from the north
Coming from the north, take the A95 highway to the end of the highway. Then follow the B2 to St.-Martin-Straße in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
If you are coming via the A7, take the highway to the end. This will automatically take you onto the Fernpassstraße B179. Then take the B187 exit in the direction of Garmisch/Ehrwald/Lermoos. The B23 will finally take you to Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
From the A8 to Augsburg, take the B17 via Landsberg am Lech onto the B23. The B2 finally takes you to the center of the vacation destination.
Approach from the south
From the south, the best way to get to Garmisch-Partenkirchen is via the E533 and then the B2 federal highway. (Mittenwald - Klais - Kaltenbrunn - Garmisch-Partenkirchen)
Another way to get to Garmisch-Partenkirchen is via the Inntal Autobahn A12.

Especially in our peak seasons, traffic jams and long delays can occur. Anti-cyclical arrival times and the use of public transport should therefore be taken into account when planning your vacation.
Would you like to start your well-deserved vacation as stress-free as possible? Then take the train to Garmisch-Partenkirchen! Hop on at your home station and get off directly in the town center.
Hint: At the weekend, there are transfer-free ICE connections between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt or Nuremberg. The regional train from Munich also runs hourly to the Bavarian Alpine region.
You can also travel in comfort with the Flixbus long-distance buses. The buses on route 040 run eight times a day directly to and from Munich and Innsbruck. Five times a day even without changing buses!

Electric mobility in Garmisch-Partenkirchen
The charging stations in Garmisch-Partenkirchen each have a Schuko and a type 2 connection and are therefore suitable for all standard electric vehicles. The charging stations are marked with a green "e" in the public parking guidance system. The parking spaces belonging to the charging stations are marked with signs and may only be occupied by electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles, subject to the specified maximum parking time.

The new LADENETZ backend system integrates the municipal utilities' own e-charging stations into a supra-regional charging station network (municipal utility network). Roaming partners include TNM, Has-to-be, etc.
The route to the charging stations can be found via the existing parking guidance system or via the APP. The corresponding parking spaces are marked with an "e".
Irrespective of charging processes, purely electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles with an e-license plate may be parked free of charge in almost all public parking spaces in the local area within the maximum parking time specified in each case.
These parking spaces/parking garages are excluded from this:
- Parking space at the station in front of the post office (managed by DB)
- Parking garage in the GEP shopping center
- Underground parking garage in Klammstraße
- Garmisch-Partenkirchen casino underground car park
- Underground parking garage in Badgasse
