Bauerntheater Partenkirchen
GASTHOF ZUM RASSEN
The Partenkirchner Bauerntheater has existed since 1892, making it one of the oldest amateur theaters in Bavaria. Plays have always been performed in the theater hall of the Gasthof Rassen opposite Partenkirchen's parish church. Several times a year, the magnificently painted stage curtain, which dates back to the founding of the traditional theater group, is raised.
The ensemble, with members aged between 18 and 80, performs comedic plays in authentic dialect that are easy to understand even for guests and locals without in-depth knowledge of the Werdenfels dialect. The performances of the Partenkirchner Bauerntheater traditionally begin with a performance by Schuhplattler dancers, whose guitar and “Ziach” set the pace. The theater music duo also liven up the intermissions with authentic folk music melodies.
