MUSIC FESTIVAL
Nine days of music - not only in concert halls, but also in nature and other original locations. The composer Richard Strauss, who lived in Garmisch-Partenkirchen for over 40 years, was also inspired by the impressive backdrop of the Bavarian Alps. The extent to which alpine nature influenced Strauss' work can be experienced at the top-class concert events, music hikes and youth projects of the annual Richard Strauss Days.
The Richard Strauss Days are part of GaPa Kultur gGmbH, which was founded in June 2020 and is also the sponsor of the Richard Strauss Institute. GaPa Kultur gGmbH also regularly organizes symphony and chamber music concerts as well as the festival "Michael Ende. Days of Fantasy" festival. This makes it the most important provider of high-quality cultural formats and classical music concerts in the region.
