RESEARCH & EXHIBITION
For anyone interested in the life and work of the world-famous composer and conductor Richard Strauss (1864-1949), the Richard Strauss Institute (RSI) is the most important place to go. Housed in the historic “Villa Christina” in Partenkirchen's Kurpark, the permanent exhibition invites all music enthusiasts to find out more about the life and work of Strauss. There is also a special exhibition on the conductor Hermann Levi (1839-1900), the second great musical personality of the town, as well as a specialist library and an archive.
The RSI is part of GaPa Kultur gGmbH, founded in June 2020, which also regularly organizes symphony and chamber music concerts and festivals like the “Richard-Strauss-Tage”. This makes GaPa Kultur gGmbH the most important provider of high-quality cultural formats and classical music concerts in the region.
