Trail Running
Via Reschbergwiesen to the Werdenfels Castle Ruin
This round tour leads you from the romantic Pflegersee (Lake Pfleger) via the unique Reschbergwiesen (pastures) to the ruins of Werdenfels Castle. This is a nice tour for running as well as for Nordic Walking. It is also perfect as a small hiking tour for the whole family.
At first, you will run along the right side of the lake to Restaurant Pflegersee. When you have passed the restaurant, there will be some slight ascents to the Reschbergwiesen. Signs will point you the way. From here, follow the signs to Burgrain. Shortly before reaching Burgrain, take the path to Burgruine Werdenfels. When you have left the ruin behind, the forest track will lead you in the direction of Garmisch until you reach a forestry road. After a fork in the path, a forest track to the left leads you to the Pflegersee and, therefore, back to your starting point in a nice round tour.
