Family tour around Garmisch-Partenkirchen
A simple tour that is perfect for families with small children and as a short training session after work.
The cycle path starts opposite to the station on St.-Martin-Straße. Turn left onto St.-Martin-Strape and ride on it under the railway bridge and to the next intersection controlled by traffic lights (Klammstraße). Leave the main road and turn left. Soon you will arrive at a path leading you over the railway tracks to the cycle path in the direction of Hammersbach. Turn right and continue on a well-asphalted road along the railway tracks. As soon as you reach the street to the Kreuzeck-/Alpspitzbahn cable cars, cross the street before you reach the crossing. From now on follow the path to the right to the footpath in the direction of Hammersbach. When you have arrived at Hammersbach, turn left and cross the railway tracks. The road will lead you directly through a residential area to the parking site for hikers. Turn left here and ride past the farm. Follow the signs to Grainau and turn accordingly. The road will lead you over the Oberen Dorfplatz (upper village square) to the Unteren Dorfplatz (lower village square). On the opposite side, turn right onto Straße am Krepbach, which will turn into a cycle and foot path directly alongside the stream. This path leads you to the end of Grainau where you will return to the main road. The route continues along the railway tracks, slightly downhill, to the state road B23, which you will have to cross. Pass the landing place of the canoeists and kayakers and cross the bridge over the Loisach River (Loisachbrücke) to the Herrgottschrofen. Turn right and ride slightly downhill through the forest until you arrive at a short ascent up to the residential area. Turn left here between the houses and right onto Äußere Maximilianstraße. Follow the street, which will turn into Loisachstraße. At the end of the street on the Loisachbrücke, turn right and follow the signs to the Bahnhof (station) - your starting point.
