Trail Running
Hausberg-Bobmuseum-Riessersee Lake
This beginner's trail takes you on the trail of the historic bobsleigh run. At the beginning, you can expect a longer ascent on an asphalt and forest path before a small path leads you through the forest to the historic bobsleigh run.
Before the Hausberg mountain hotel, turn right towards the ski piste. After you have crossed this, the first turn-off to the left takes you just under 1 km and approx. 150 metres in altitude up to the Schnitzschulhütte.
From there, a somewhat hidden path leads to the right in the direction of Riessersee. Use the upcoming passage to recover from the challenging ascent and tackle the last few metres to the highest point of the tour.
At the highest point of this loop, the path turns into a forest track, and from here on you have a decent downhill section ahead of you.
As soon as you reach the wide forest road, take the first turn-off on the right towards the bobsleigh run. After approx. 150 metres, you have two options here: either take the more challenging trail to the left along the bobsleigh run or take the path down the bobsleigh run.
Whichever route you choose:
When you reach the finish, the view of the Waxensteine practically magically draws you to the left towards the Aule Alm. Keep to the right for the next 500 metres and take a sharp right at the fork in the footpath; the gravel path leads you back to Riessersee with an easy "up'n down" section.
At the end of the lake, turn left under the hotel and follow a serpentine path down to the railway tracks. From there, turn right and walk about 400 metres back to the starting point with a fantastic view towards Kramer and Wank.
