Hike along the “Philosophenweg” (philosopher’s trail) from Partenkirchen to Farchant
Hike and philosophise all the way from St. Anton to Farchant: This trail offers great views and is a wonderful experience year-round for the young and old alike.
Your tour starts at the bus stop Schnitzschulstraße/Ludwigstraße in Partenkirchen. You will arrive at the Philosophenweg after a short ascent via Sonnenberstraße to the Floriansbrunnen fountain where you will turn left onto Prof.-Michael-Sachs-Straße. At the end of this street, you will turn left again. Now, follow the Brunnhäuslweg until you reach the Philosophenweg (follow the signs). From here, follow this even path that is without ups and downs to the Schützenhaus inn. Here, you will cross the street and walk past the Schützenhaus on the right hand side. This route will lead you steadily downhill until it finally leads you to a short passage uphill over the little Scheinsbichl hill before finally reaching Farchant. Part of the time you will be walking in shadowy mountain forests and the rest of the trip you will have great views of the surrounding mountains. For your way back to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, you can choose to walk the same way back or take the local bus from the centre of Farchant (it starts at the Maypole and is free of charge if you have a “Kurkarte” (spa card)).This way goes quite evede. he schü
