Trail Running
Via St. Martin Hütte on the Grasberg to the Königsstand
If you want to turn the Kramerplateau Trail into a somewhat sportier event, this is the route for you. The St.-Martin-Hütte offers one of the most beautiful views of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
You start at the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Tourist Information Centre and walk through the Kurpark to the Loisachbrücke bridge. Here you continue in the direction of Kramerplateauweg. As soon as you have reached the idyllic Kriegergedächtniskapelle chapel after the first slight ascent, take the ascent to Grasberg / St.-Martin-Hütte at the crossroads (signposted). Now follow the wide, serpentine path to the hut. Behind the mountain hut, the path now becomes narrower into the forest and continues uphill. Follow the signs for Königsstand / Kramerspitz. Now continue uphill past the so-called Felsenkanzel. This is a kind of iron balcony in the rock face, which offers an incredible view into the depths and distance. The route continues up the south side of the Kramer. The high-level trail to the Königsstand is signposted. The tour leads back the same way.
