Q&A: EVERYTHING ABOUT TRAIL RUNNING
What is your motivation for your first trail run? To lose weight? Enjoy the panorama? Are you looking for new sporting challenges? No matter what your motivation is, keep it up by printing out a picture of your goal and hanging it next to your bed. That way, you'll wake up every day with your goal in mind.
Your body works in a similar way to a car engine. If you fill it up with the wrong fuel, the engine breaks down. It's the same with our bodies. If you mainly eat fast food and very fatty foods, your body can no longer perform properly. Of course, this also has an impact on your trail running performance. So make sure you eat a balanced diet. You burn a lot of calories on your trails, so provide your body with high-quality calories, such as pasta, rice or potatoes. Try to eat a little fresh fruit and vegetables every day. You can remember the following rule for your main meals: 1/3 protein (fish, meat, soy etc.), 1/3 carbohydrates (rice, pasta, potatoes...), 1/3 vegetables (peppers, carrots, asparagus....).
After sport, it is important to restore the minerals that have been used up and sweated out to the body. In addition to isotonic sports drinks, drinking an ice-cold non-alcoholic beer is of course also a good way to do this.
Warming up is important because it signals to your body that it is about to exert itself and that certain metabolic processes need to adapt. Warming up also helps to prevent injuries. Even for an exercise as simple as running, a general warm-up program is crucial for the running experience.
The beauty of trail running is the variation and versatility this sport has to offers. Of course, it's mainly about running, but due to the wide variety of surfaces - gravel, forest floor, roots, etc. - you have to constantly adapt to the ground and our panoramic tours take you to places with wonderful views.
